About Resident Weekends
Want to come to camp but don’t have lots of time? Weekend Resident Camp is the perfect overnight camping program for you! Get all the elements of Summer Camp in a high intensity fun filled weekend.
Come in on Thursday night, get your campsite set up and your swim tests out of the way to make more time for Friday fun!
NEW in 2025 – Come try our 4th of July week Bear Program. This program is specially designed for rising Bears. Join us at 10AM on Monday and stay through 11AM on Thursday for a Bear sized summer camp experience.
Sleep in a tent, eat in the dining hall, enjoy lots of great program and experience a great a campfire program. The fun is non-stop from morning until night. Sessions run from Thursday at 6:30pm to Sunday at 9:00am, and feature 3 nights of overnight camping. Meals are provided from Friday breakfast through Sunday continental breakfast.
For rising Tigers (completed Kindergarten) thru rising Arrow of Light Scouts (completed 4th Grade)

Activities
Enjoy lots of activities in our program areas, whether that’s getting crafty, sharpening your scout skills, or learning about the natural world.
The program includes both fun projects and activities as well as opportunities to work on Cub Scout Adventures.
Archery
Shoot arrows with our compound bows for maximum accuracy and target hitting power. Learn how to properly shoot and stay safe at the range while having lots of fun.
BBs
Shooting sports is a staple of all good summer camps. Have mountains of fun shooting at the BB gun range while learning proper range etiquette and gun safety.
The Pool
Summer days are long and hot! It is great to cool down at the Pool, play on the waterslides, and hang out with each other during water sports.
Boating
Explore our amazing lake. Its surface and shoreline are filled with lily pads and other wildlife. We have canoes and paddle boats for your sunny day boating adventures.
The Big Dig
Digging for treasure is something we rarely, if ever, get to do. At the Big Dig you get to do just that! What will you find?
The Ship
Learn about signal flags and how to the sailors of old used to communicate. What is a ship, even if it is on land, without water? Come enjoy water games at our ship.
Field Games
Obstacle courses, Soccer, tag, Gaga Ball, and so much more happen in our field games area. Your imagination is the only limiting thing when you visit Field games.
Handicraft
Arts, crafts, leather working galore are waiting for you at handicrafts. We teach you how to make things daily and you get to take your new crafts and knowledge home to show everyone what you learned.
Nature
Learn what animals Camp Snyder has to offer and how they live. Study “footprints” and learn how to be like the animals and Leave No Trace.

2 Leaders FREE per Pack with your unit’s Resident Weekend registration. All registrations must be made by unit and must meet BSA chaperone regulations for summer camps.
* Bear Week is specially planned for those who are in 2nd grade now / 3rd grade in the fall 2025. The curriculum is specially planned to focus on 3rd grade specific Cub Scout adventures.

Adult Requirements
All Scouts attending summer programs at Camp Snyder must be chaperoned by either their own adult family member or a leadership team from their Scout unit. We welcome parents, trained Scout leaders, and Den Chiefs to attend camp with their Scouts. Per BSA National policy, those attending camp must maintain the appropriate BSA registrations and Youth protection training.
